Clients - Department for Work and Pensions
Name: Department for Work and Pensions
Industry: Government
Project Summary: Designing and delivering leadership sessions on the DWP's Realising Potential programme.
Business Issue: In 2004, The Department for Work and Pensions launched the Realising Potential positive action programme to support Black and Minority Ethnic staff in their career development. The Department needed a credible organisation to support the launch.
PTI Action: PTI worked to communicate, launch and deliver parts of the Realising Potential programme. In addition PTI facilitated a number of development workshops for participants on the programme, always to great acclaim.
Business Result: The Realising Potential programme enabled many hundreds of BME employees in the DWP to step-change their performance and to further their careers within the Department. The evaluation of the project found that there was a tangible benefit to this positive action initiative and Realising Potential subsequently became the template for many other similar programmes across the UK public sector.
