Business Issue: Eaton Engineering Inc, an $8 billion turnover US engineering group, wanted to embed the business case for diversity at the heart of its commercial and people strategies. With no previous work undertaken in the area and a US parent company with a strong Affirmative Action agenda, the UK subsidiary turned to PTI for support.

PTI Action: As well as uncovering some fascinating workforce dynamics from the deployment of InclusionIndex, PTI researched and wrote Eaton’s first commercial case for inclusion, taking into consideration the unique challenges faced by a predominantely white, male workforce in a niche engineering market. We also conducted a full review of all policies and practices, including site accessibility, before bringing the findings together into a comprehensive strategic plan.

Business Result: Eaton has now rolled out its diversity strategy across its UK workforce and has placed the business case for inclusion at the core of its operations. There is now a full understanding of the vital role played by diversity in the company's commercial success across the workforce at all levels in the organisation.
