Project Summary: Diversity awareness and impact assessment training, supported by a world-class train-the-trainer package.

Business Issue: Sheffield Teaching Hospitals developed a comprehensive diversity strategy to help deliver the organisation's diversity objectives. A core part of the strategy was the training of staff in diversity related issues. The training needed to cover a wide range of areas and continue for the duration of the strategy.

PTI Action: Our diversity awareness module for Sheffield Teaching Hospitals involved a structure taking participants through macro issues such as wider demographic trends and legislation through to managing conflict, personal mastery, stereotypes and biases, beliefs and values. The module also covered Dignity at Work issues and impact assessment methodology.

Business Result: The training was delivered to over 300 staff by PTI trainers directly. The module was then deployed across the rest of the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Trust workforce by PTI-trained internal facilitators to great acclaim.
