Project Summary: Equality Impact Assessment for Royal Free Hospitals NHS Trust.

Business Issue: Impact assessment is clearly now a legal requirement for all public sector organisations and is an essential driver of service improvement. Royal Free Hospitals NHS Trust understands this and therefore commissioned Performance Through Inclusion to conduct a comprehensive Equality Impact Assessment evaluation and training project.

PTI Action: In order to help all staff embrace fully the principles of impact assessment as a core part of their role, PTI supported the Trust on the design and delivery of a training module to assist 200 staff to deliver impact assessments. This took the form of a half-day (3 hour) impact assessment module, which was a skills-based session that helped employees understand the background, content and completion of the impact assessment process.

Business Result: The initial phase of the training programme was completed successfully to time and budget and the Trust has since commissioned PTI to run a large number of further workshops across the organisation.
