Industry: Government

Project Summary: Cultural audit with Derbyshire Criminal Justice System agencies.

Business Issue: The agencies within the Derbyshire CJS wanted to understand more about perceptions of BME communities regarding the various service providers in the CJS.

PTI Action: PTI completed a comprehensive review and audit of Black and Minority Ethnic communities’ interaction with the Criminal Justice System in Derbyshire. This online and offline survey-based project focused on confidence levels amongst BME people relating to the Police, the CPS, the Probation Service and the Court Service, and also involved assessing policies and practices across the CJS for adverse impact.

Business Result: Derbyshire CJS was left with a much more detailed understanding of how it should tailor its communication media, service delivery approaches and personal interactions with Black and Minority Ethnic communities across the region. Further, the results also suggested urban and rural variances in the approaches required, given the diverse nature of each different community.
